Hei!

For English readers

Welcome to air:bit – A science project on air pollution by the School Laboratory in science and technology at UiT The arctic university of Norway.

On this website you can view and download air pollution data collected by students at Upper Secondary Schools throughout the whole of Northern Norway! The students build their own air:bit sensor from its individual components consisting of a GPS module, a dust particle sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor and a memory card reader to store the collected measurements.

We integrate air quality data from the official data feeds provided by NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research as well as weather records from The Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

As this project targets Norwegian Upper Secondary School students, the resources, videos and teaching materials found on this site are primarily in Norwegian language. We will be working with translating the material to English.
In the meantime you can use Google Translate to read through our teaching material. We realize that using Google Translate is not ideal, but it will allow non-Norwegian readers to get more information about our project while we work on translating everything properly.
